M.RES. IN AVIATION MAINTENANCE

This degree is designed to teach research skills specifically relative to national and international aviation maintenance challenges. Upon graduation, you'll be able to demonstrate a theoretical and practical understanding of the aviation maintenance field.

CURRICULUM

As a research degree, you'll have the opportunity to focus your work on your own area of interest. You'll create and execute a detailed research plan that you must then defend in front of your academic peers. By the end of the program, you'll be able to demonstrate a master’s level knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies in the aviation maintenance field.

CAREERS

Gain the research skills to work or advance your career in roles that deal with all aspects of aviation maintenance. You’ll be able to focus your research on your areas of interest, and many graduates advance to a Ph.D. in the future to further their studies and research interests.

M.S. IN AVIATION

The master’s in aviation program is designed to teach you how to review and analyze the latest aviation concepts at an advanced level. You’ll evaluate the legal, social, economic, environmental, and global ramifications of leadership actions and business decisions within the aviation industry.

Aviation cybersecurity is an emerging field that combines the complexities of cyber technology with business of aviation. You will study the latest technological developments and applications to create a comprehensive understanding of how cybersecurity and aviation concepts merge in successful organizations.

CURRICULUM

Courses in this program are designed with both cybersecurity and aviation in mind. Classes like Technology-Enabled Aviation Operations and Aviation Cybersecurity Management will help you to gain a fulfilling knowledge of both disciplines while working on your final research project. M.RES. IN ASTRONAUTICAL ENGINEERING

This program allows you to focus your research on commercial, civil, or general aviation, so you’re able to develop an in-depth knowledge of whatever field of study you decide to pursue. Upon graduation, you will have a mastery level understanding of the global needs of the astronautical engineering field.

CURRICULUM

Classes in the program cover topics like the ethics and philosophy of data collection, as well as the fundamentals of graduate research and design. You will then incorporate the theoretical and practical applications of astronautical engineering in a scholarly research project that you will defend before your peers. A large portion of your curriculum will focus on this final research thesis.

CAREERS

You’ll further your career by conducting original research in an approved area of astronautical engineering (such as commercial, civil, or general aviation). You'll also be able to serve as a subject matter expert, work in private companies or government agencies. Many students from the program are now working at Goddard and NASA.

M.S. IN UNMANNED AND AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS POLICY

This degree program offers a comprehensive foundation of unmanned and autonomous systems policy through courses that focus on aeronautical technologies, data collection, risk management, flight operation, and more. By the end of the program, you will be prepared to become a certified unmanned aerial systems operator.

CURRICULUM

The objective of your courses will be to give you a full understanding of how to create policies and risk management plans for all major types of unmanned automated systems. You will study the ethical and legal foundations for different types of system policies, as well as the various levels of UAS automation and autonomy policies, risk management plans, and techniques.
